1967: It’s day three of the Mariposa Folk Festival at Innis Lake Campground in Caledon, Ontario. Joni Mitchell both makes her second appearance. Also on stage this night is Leonard Cohen.
1968: Bruce Palmer plays his last gig with Buffalo Springfield, at the Sports Arena in San Diego. He’s busted on drugs charges again a few days later, so he’s deported.
1968: Tal Bachman is born in Winnipeg as Talmage Bachman.
1969: The Guess Who release the AMERICAN WOMAN album, and its first single, the title track.
1971: Anne Murray is in Vancouver for the first of two nights at PNE Coliseum.
1976: Rose opens for Triumph in Hamilton at the Delta Hotel.
1977: BTO announce their split-up, the first time.
1982: Bryan Adams is in Little Mountain Sound Studio in Vancouver, working on what would become his CUTS LIKE A KNIFE album.
1983: Coney Hatch opens for Fastway and Iron Maiden in Erie, PA at the Civic Arena.
1993: The original Streetheart lineup reunites for the first time in 15 years for a show at Winnipeg\’s Rolling Stone Cabaret – the first of a three night run.
1994: Jann Arden’s “Insensitive” peaks at number 5 on the US charts.
1996:Sass Jordan is in Edmonton for a show at The Thunderdome.
2001: Sum 41 sees their first album, ALL KILLER, NO FILLER certified platinum in the US.
2002: Julian Austin releases his BULLETPROOF album.
2003: Big Sugar‘s BROTHERS & SISTERS WHERE ARE YOU? album is certified gold.
2005: Hedley tops Canada’s singles chart for the first time, with “On My Own.”
2010: Graham Shaw is among the performers at the Music in the Ruins Festival at St. Norbert Arts Centre in Winnipeg.
2014: George Canyon’s SOMEBODY WROTE LOVE album is certified gold in Canada.
2015: Lynne Hanson is in Toronto for the first of a two-night stand at Hugh’s Room.
