our First Lady of the Blues.

1964: Dick Damron is on top of Canada's country chart with "Hitch
Hikin'."

1960: Al Connelly of
Glass Tiger is born in Montreal.

1966:
Ugly Duckings' "Solo Train" enters the Canadian pop
chart at #93.

1966:
The Townsmen enter the Canadian pop chart at #86 with their version of
"The Lion Sleeps Tonite."

1969:
Neil Young is in Providence, RI with Crosby, Stills, and Nash for a show
at the Auditorium.

1970:
Anne Murray peaks at #10 on Billboard's country chart with
"Snowbird."

1977:
Patsy Gallant sees "From New York To LA" reach #15 on the
Netherlands pop chart.

1979:
Triumph is in Sault Ste Marie for a show at Memorial Gardens.

1982:
Powder Blues Band is in Oshawa, Ont for a show at the Oshawa
Centre.

1985:
Guess Who are in Mayersville, NJ for a show at Modern Times.

1987:
Sword is on a UK tour, and opens for Motorhead at the Hammersmith Odeon the
first of a two-night stand.

1987: "Love and Satisfaction," the lead single from
New Regime's second album peaks at #67 on the Canadian singles
chart.

Alan Thicke is the guest host on Solid Gold.

Rush's "Time Stands Still enters the Canadian pop chart at #94.

1990:
Jeff Healey is in London, England for a show at the Hammersmith
Odeon.

1992: KD Lang peaks on Billboard's country chart at #38 with "Constant
Craving."

Rik Emmett releases his sophomore solo album, IPSO FACTO.

1995:
Cowboy Junkies release their album, 200 MORE MILES: LIVE PERFORMANCES

2002: Country and bluegrass star
Ralph Carlson dies of leukemia at the age of 61.

2002:
The Tragically Hip perform two songs, "It's a Good Life If
You Don't Weaken", and "Poets", as part of a command performance for the British
queen in a ceremony in Ottawa after she came to visit the peasants.

2005: Radio stations get the first song from
The Pursuit of Happiness in almost a decade – a cover of
Prince's "When Doves Cry" from their greatest hits compilation.

2006:
Blue Rodeo's
Greg Keelor releases his third solo album, APHRODITE.

2007:
Blue Rodeo sees their SMALL MIRACLES album certified gold.

2009: Leela Gilday performs in Banff, Alberta at the Margaret Greenham Theatre.

2014:
Shred Kelly is in Vancouver at Sugar Studios, cutting the video for
"Rowed Away."

2015: Bob Bryden releases the single and video for "Who Are They Shooting At
Now?"

2017: Carrot Sticks release their new single, "Knock On Wood."

2017:
Shania Twain sees her first album in 15 years, NOW, debut at #1 in both
Canada and the US.

2017: The Saskatoon Musicians Association presents the inaugural Kenny Shields Special
Recognition Award for contributions to the professional arts. On hand for the presentation is longtime
Streetheart guitarist Jeff Neill. The winner is Shelly Loeffler, active
with both the Saskatoon Symphony and Saskatoon Jazz Society, and host of jazz programs on both radio and
online.

2018: Members of
Tragically Hip join Choir! Choir! Choir! onstage in Toronto at Dundas
Younge Square for a Gord Downie tribute show.

2019: Unleash The Archers release their EP, EXPLORERS, and its first single, a cover of
Teaze's "Heartless World."

2019: Kendal Thompson releases her new single, "Not Ur Girl."

2020:
Alfie Zappacosta and some friends are in Edmonton for the second of a two
night stand at Spotlight Cabaret.
