1936: Hank Snow successfully auditions for Hugh
Joseph at RCA Victor's Montreal office. He's signed to the
label as The Yodeling Ranger.

1955:
The Four Lads peak at #5 on the US
charts with "Moments To Remember."

1956:
The Diamonds hit number 12 on the US
charts with the single, "Why Do Fools Fall In
Love?".

1965: Peter Timmins, drummer with
The Cowboy Junkies, is born in
Montreal.

1965:
The Esquires are on the bill at The
Montreal Forum, along with headliners The Dave Clark Five.

1974:
Rush close out a two-night stand in Roslyn,
New York at My Father's Place.

1976:
Bachman Turner Overdrive record a show at
the Budokan in Tokyo for the LIVE IN JAPAN lp.

1978:
Anne Murray's "You
Needed Me" tops Billboard's chart.

1979:
Bryan Adams enters Manta Studios
in Toronto to begin work on his self titled debut album.

1979:
Rush is in New Orleans for a show at The
Warehouse.

1981:
Rush release their live EXIT… STAGE LEFT
album.

1982:
Spoons are in Toronto for a show at The
Concert Hall. It's simulcast on fm and tv.

1983:
Helix peaks on Billboard's albums
chart at #194 with NO REST FOR THE WICKED.

1987:
Chalk Circle opens for
Rush in St John's, NFLD at Memorial
Stadium for the first of a two-night stand kicking off
Rush's Power Windows tour.

1987:
54-40 release the album, SHOW ME.

1994:
Jann Arden,
Roch Voisine, Real World and
Punjabi By Nature are the guests on Rita MacNeil's CBC debut,
"Rita & Friends." The show draws 1.7 million
viewers.

1995:
Paul Anka guests on "The
Simpsons."

1996:
Joni Mitchell releases two
separate compilation albums – HITS, and MISSES.

1997:
Blue Peter play their first show in
12 years, at The Velvet Underground in Toronto.

1998:
Joni Mitchell is on tour with
Bob Dylan, in Toronto for a show at MLG.

2002: OPUS X from
Chilliwack is re-released on CD in
the US.

2005: "Canadian Idol" winner Melissa
O'Neil has her single, "Alive!" top Canada's
singles chart. It stays there for five weeks.

2007: Air Mail Archive re-release five Bruce
Cockburn albums Stateside – BRUCE COCKBURN, HIGH WINDS – WHITE SKY,
SUNWHEEL DANCE, NIGHT VISION, and SALT SUN AND TIME. 2011:
Punch Drunk Cabaret is
at The Bailey Theatre in Camrose, Alberta, shooting the video for
"Two Brown Bottles of Beer."

2011:
Streetheart is in Cold Lake, Alberta
for a show at the Energy Centre.

2015:
Big Sugar is live in Saskatoon at
O' Brien's.

2017: Alex Focused is in Toronto for a show at Eden
Hall.

2019: During a ceremony in Toronto,
Dead South receive their first gold
record plaque for the single, ""n Hell I'll Be In
Good Company."
