1956: The 4 Lads release the single “Who Needs You?”
1964: The Halifax Three release the album, SAN FRANCISCO BAY BLUES.
1965: The Guess Who‘s “‘Til We Kissed” enters the charts at #36.
1967: Buffalo Springfield is in San Francisco for a show at the Tempo Club. Former Squires bassist Ken Koblun was flown in from Winnipeg to join the band, since Bruce Palmer was still in jail after a drug bust a month earlier in New York.
1969: Andy Kim peaks at #49 on Billboard’s chart with “Rainbow Ride.”
1970: It’s the first of many cancellations this year for The Band, when they no-show their gig in Sacramento at Cal Expo.
1974: Abraham’s Children release their debut, and only album, TIME.
1979: Nancy Nash releases her pseudo-disco version of the Steam classic, “Na Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye).”
1981: Max Webster opens for Rush at Stafford in Bingley, England.
1983: Streetheart release their DANCING WITH DANGER album.
1984: 54-40 release their first full-length album, SET THE FIRE.
1986: Kick Axe and Lee Aaron are in Peterborough, Ontario for a show at the Memorial Arena.
1989: Moving Targetz are at home in Toronto for a show at the El Mocambo, their first time there.
1991: Danny Hooper releases the album, TOO PRETTY TO CRY.
1994: “And if Venice is Sinking” by Spirit of the West peaks at #12 on the adult contemporary chart.
2000: Trooper re-releases HOT SHOTS on CD in the US.
2002: Rik Emmett is in St Charles, Indiana for a show at Arcadia Theatre.
2005: Triumph re-releases JUST A GAME, from ’79 in the US.
2009: The Trews release the single, “Can’t Stop Laughing.”
2015: Jesse Roper releases his RED BIRD album.
2018: Bruce Cockburn is in Victoria, BC for a show at the Alex Goolden Hall.
2017: The new Leonard Cohen single, “That Don’t Make It Junk.” is released.
2018: Three Days Grace release the video for the song, “The Mountain,” in hype of their upcoming sixth album, OUTSIDER.
2018: Anvil becomes the first Canadian group to be inducted in the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame during a ceremony in LA.
2019: Lee Aaron and Holly Woods & Toronto are in Edmonton for a show at Century Casino.
2019: The New Enemy release their new album, ILLUSION OF CHOICE.
2019: Effigy of Hate release their new single and video, “Blackened Lungs That Cry.”
2020: Bill Bourne is in Wetaskiwin, Alberta for a show at Yetford Hall.
2020: Storm Force release their new album, AGE OF FEAR.
