1947: Freddy Pompeii of The Viletones and The Secrets is born in Philadelphia, PA as Frederick DiPasquale.1956: Kenny MacLean of Deserters and Platinum Blonde is born in Glasgow, Scotland.
1966: Buffalo Springfield ends a 10 night stand in New York City at Ordine's. Bruce Palmer is busted later that night for drugs possession. Needed back in LA to fulfill obligations, the band abandons him there.
1967: Characters peak on the Canadian pop chart at #82 with their version of "Heartbreak Hotel."
1971: Andy Kim's "Be My Baby" peaks at #8 on the Canadian chart.
1971: The Bells' "Fly Little White Dove Fly" enters the US pop chart.
1978: The Diodes are featured in MacLean's Magazine, along with Wayne Gretzky and Conrad Black as 'people to watch'.
1982: Rush see "Closer To The Heart" peak at #69 on Billboard's chart. Ironically, it comes from A RUSH THROUGH TIME - a record Mercury releasd whose title the band hated and didn't authorize.
1982: Ronnie Prophet, Alan Thicke, and Bobby Curtola are among the performers during the annual Commercial Traveler's Telethon in Calgary.
1983: Triumph is in Springfield, Illinois for a show at the Prairie Capital Centre.
1985: Triumph is in Glenn Falls, NY for a show at the Civic Centre.
1989: Rush release their third live double album, A SHOW OF HANDS.
1999: While competing at the local rodeo in Olds, Alberta, Julian Austin gets tossed and breaks several bones, effectively ending his bullriding career.
2002: Matthew Good Band's THE AUDIO OF BEING album is released Stateside.
