1932: Edmonton's community orchestra gives its first concert.

1950: Colleen Peterson is born in Peterborough, Ontario.

1952: The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra suspends operations, one day shy of its 32nd anniversary. It resurfaces later that month as a non-profit society.

1953: Helix guitarist Paul Hackman is born in St Thomas, Ontario.

1964: Terry Black makes his first appearance on American Bandstand at the age of 15, where he lip-syncs "Can We Go Somewhere? and "Unless You Care."

1966: Pierre Lalonde holds top spot in the French top 10 with "Je Les Aimes Tant."

1970: The Band is in Bloomington for a show at the Indiana University Auditorium.

1971: Troyka play their last show ever, fittingly in their hometown of Edmonton at the Kinsmen Fieldhouse. Joining them is Bob Styrna, who played with them when they were still known as The Royal Family.

1980: SCTV is on the air! David Brinkley (aka Rick Moranis reviews a Viletones concert in New York. There was too much violence, he says.

1981: Triumph's "Magic Power" peaks at #51 on the Billboard singles chart.

1991: Varga and Slik Toxic are in Toronto for a show at Rock & Roll Heaven.

1992: Tom Cochrane's "Washed Away" peaks at #88 on Billboard's chart for the first of a two week run.

1995: 54-40 are in Mushroom Studios in Vancouver, working on what would become the SMILIN' BUDDAH CABARET album.

2000: Colin James releases his FUSE album.

2004: The Smalls are at home in Edmonton for a show at Starlite Room.

2004: Tragically Hip are in Vancouver for a show at GM Place.

2013: An online petition by angry fans is started when the owners of the Red Robinson Theatre in Coquitlam, BC announce they're changing the name. Hundreds of artists made the theatre a staple of their touring schedule over nearly 30 years. Robinson got his start spinning records in Vancouver while still in high school in 1954, and was the first DJ to consistently play rock n' roll in Canada, and introduced legendary acts like Elvis Presley and the Beatles to Vancouver.

2014: Darkroom reunites for a show at Century Casino in their hometown of Edmonton. It's their first time on stage together since 1989.

2014: Corb Lund reunites with The Smalls for the first of a three night run at The Starlite Room in Edmonton.

2014: Trews are in Saskatoon for a show at the O'Brians Event Centre.

2015: Marianas Trench are on Billboard's chart for the first and only time with "Astoria," peaking at #53.

2014: Nickelback releases their NO FIXED ADDRESS album, their first for new label Republic Records.

2015: Dallas Smithis the entertainment at Rexall Place as Edmonton hosts the Canadian Finals Rodeo.

2015: Mark Bradac is in Charlotte, NC for a show at Amos' Southend.

2015: Maguire's Bridge in Pierceland, Saskatchewan is home to an intimate show from Claire Ness.

2015: Julian Austin is in Edson, Alberta for a show at The OT Club.

2015: Sam Roberts, Matt Mays, and Amanda Rheaume are in Toronto at TD Place for the Rock For Public Services show, sponsored by the local CUPE 503.

2018: George Canyon is in Regina for a show at Casino Regina.
