1938: Tommy Chong, guitarist for Little Daddy and the Bachelors, later renamed Four Niggers and a Chink, and then Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers is born in Edmonton. He's best known as half of Cheech and Chong.
1956: One-time Magic Circus and Paupers member James Houston is born in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
1969: The Guess Who make their American TV debut on "American Bandstand," performing "These Eyes." It also peaks at #6 on Billboard's chart with "These Eyes."

2001: Connie Kaldor appears at the Music Alert fundraiser in Toronto to raise money for Friends of Medicare.

2005: Triumph releases the anthology LIVIN' FOR THE WEEKEND in the UK through Castle Music.
2006: The Tragically Hip are presented with an Honourary Fellowship by the Royal Conservatory of Music during a gala in Toronto.
2007: Three quarters of The Diodes are in Liverpool's Cavern Club for the International Pop Overthrow Festival. Jaimie Vernon ( Moving Targetz, Swindled, later Mr Mouray) also takes the stage.
2007: A Toronto radio station's 30th anniversary concert and live radio special at The Dock in Toronto features the reunion of Max Webster, as well as performances by Goddo, The Salads, Honeymoon Suite, David Wilcox, Alannah Myles and Sass Jordan.
2009: Slow release the single and video, "Have Not Been The Same."
2010: The current lineup of Chilliwack is joined by former members Ab Bryant and Claire Lawrence, plus Howard Froese's son, Tyson, on acoustic guitar, along with Collectors singer Howie Vickers for a Chilliwack 40th Anniversary show at River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, BC.
2013: Anvil's new album, HOPE IN HELL, is released.
2014: Jack Jackson is in Rapid View, Sask for a show at Compass Immanuel Church.
2015: The Good Brothers receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Toronto Musicians' Association.
2015: It's the second night of the 50th Spirit of Yorkville anniversary show at the Pilot Tavern in Toronto. On the bill are Mike McKenna, George Olliver, Dave Bingham, Robin Boers, Johnnie Lovesin, Fergus Hambleton, Luke and the Apostles, Kid Carson, Pat Little, Betty Richardson, Cathy Young, and Paul DeLong, among others.
2016: Tragically Hip's Gordon Downie is told he has terminal brain cancer, but is given the green light though to carry on touring.
2017: Kicknrox release their new single and video, "The First One's For Free."
2018: Cowboy Junkies, Skydiggers and Lee Harvey Osmond are in Toronto for one big show at Massey Hall.
2019: Universal Music re-releases Fist's HOT SPIKES, IN THE RED, and FLEET STREET albums.
