1939: Sixties country star Dick Nolan is born in Cornerbrook, NFLD.

1945: John Crone, tenor sax player for Bobby Kris & The Imperials is born in Toronto.

1956: The Crew Cuts release the single “Seven Days.”

1966: Paupers are in Oshawa for a show at the Jubilee Auditorium.

1966: Bob Dylan’s show at the Convention Centre in Louisville, KY kicks off an 11 country world tour, and the first show with The Band as his backing group.

1967: “Full Measure” by Lovin’ Spoonful (with Canadian Zal Yanovsky) enters the Canadian pop chart at #85. Their other current single at the time was “Nashville Cats,” which peaked at #2 on the same day.

1972: Chilliwack releases the single, “Sundown.”

1973: Steppenwolf‘s 16 GREATEST HITS album is released, the exact same songs but in a different order appeared two years later as 16 GREAT PERFORMANCES.

1978: Burton Cummings releases “In Your Backyard.”

1978: Chilliwack‘s “Baby Blue” peaks at #16 on the Canadian singles chart.

1982: Orphans tape their performance at The Norlander Hotel in Winnipeg for the local TV show, West Rock Hotel.

1984: Headpins‘ only Billboard entry, “Just One More Time” peaks at #70.

1985: Bruce Cockburn begins a five week tour of Czechoslovakia, Austria, and East and West Germany.

1991: Alias peaks on the Canadian pop chart at #17 with “Waiting For Love.”

1997: Bruce Cockburn releases his 19th studio album, THE CHARITY OF NIGHT.

2006: Leonard Cohen and Anne Murray (Legacy Award) are inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. 26 songs are also inducted, including “Sugar Sugar,” by Andy Kim (recorded by The Archies) and “Put Your Hand In The Hand,” by Gene MacLellan.

2006: Bubbles from The Trailer Park Boys appears on stage with Trooper at the Park Bunny Ball, in Vancouver.

2014: Marianas Trench guitarist Matt Webb releases his second solo album, RIGHT DIRECTION.

2015: Former Default frontman Dallas Smith is now a country star. He’s in Saskatoon for a show at O’Brians Event Centre.

2017: Punch Drunk Cabaret is in Edmonton for a show during the Ice On Whyte Festival.

2017: Marianas Trench are in Cold Lake for a show at the Energy Centre.

2017: William Prince is in Pierceland, Saskatchewan for a show at Maguire’s Bridge.

2017: Alessia Cara is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

2018: Steadies are in Duncan, BC for a show at Duncan Showroom.

2019: Blushing Brides are in Montreal for a show at Calistoga Grill.

2020: The Truth Untold release their new single and video, “For What It’s Worth.”
