1951: Al Harlow of Seeds of Time and Prism is born in Vancouver.

1955: Scott Smith, bassist for Loverboy is born.

1966: Annihilator‘s founder Jeff Waters is born in Ottawa.

1970: Grant Smith and The Power perform for the last time, at the Jubilee Auditorium in Oshawa, Ontario.

1971: Perth County Conspiracy debut on the Canadian pop chart at #98 with “You’ve Got To Know.”

1976: Singer/songwriter Leslie Feist is born in Toronto. She worked with Peaches and Broken Social Scene, and wrote theme songs for perfumes, wireless networks, and iPod commercials, but turned down a deal with McDonald’s.

1976: Wanka hosts a Valentines Ball at North Toronto Memorial Gardens.

1977: A year earlier it was the other way around, but this time T Rex opens for Rush in the Kiel Auditorium in St Louis, Missouri.

1980: Rush is in St Louis, Missouri’s Kiel Auditorium for the third of three sold out shows in as many nights.

1981: Peter Pringle is on the Alan Thicke Show, plugging his new album, RAIN UPON THE SEA.

1982: Loverboy peaks at #29 on Billboard’s chart with “Working For The Weekend.”

1982: Bryan Adams releases the single, “Straight From The Heart.”

1985: Bruce Cockburn performs in East Berlin after having performed the previous night in the western portion of the divided city. His 27-date European tour included eight shows in communist countries.

1988: During the opening ceremonies of the ’88 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Liona Boyd performs “Hands of Man,” the first song to feature her vocals, along with Rik Emmett of Triumph and Rush‘s Alex Lifeson. Gordon Lightfoot and Ian Tyson also perform together, doing “Four Strong Winds” and “Alberta Bound.”

2001: Colin James is in Kitchener, Ontario for a show at The Lyric.

2006: Nickelback release the single, “Far Away.”

2007: Jann Arden releases UNCOVER ME.

2008: Faber Drive releae the single, “Sleepless Nights.”

2011: Arcade Fire become the first indie act to win a Grammy for album of the year, for THE SUBURBS.

2013: Honeymoon Suite is in Winnipeg at The Oak.

2015: Honeymoon Suite is in Edmonton for a show at Century Casino.

2015: Hometown girl Dahlia Wakefield is in Edmonton for a show at Palace Casino.

2016: Lee Aaron and Honeymoon Suite are in Regina for a show at Casino Regina.

2020: Fist tease the world with something from their much anticipated upcoming album, the track called “We Are Fire.”
