1937: Early country icon Tommy Hunter is born in London, Ontario.

1940: Ray Hutchinson of The Beau Marks is born in Montreal.

1947: Gaye Delorme is born in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

1951: Greg Godovitz of Fludd and Goddo is born in Toronto.

1965: Hank Snow peaks at #7 on Billboard’s country chart the first of two weeks with “Wishing Well.”

1965: Bobby Curtola‘s “Mean Woman Blues” is released.

1968: Neil Young, Eric Clapton and two members of Poco are arrested during a Los Angeles party, for “being in a place where it is suspected marijuana is being used.” Clapton is later found innocent, while the others receive $100 fines each.

1974: Rush is in Toronto for the fifth of a six night gig at the Pickadilly Tube.

1974: Stampeders release their NEW DAY album and its only single, “Ramona.”

1976: Dick Damron tops the Canadian country chart with “On The Road.”

1976: THP Orchestra is atop Canada’s chart with “The Theme From SWAT.”

1980: Loverboy enter Little Mountain studio in Vancouver and begin recording their debut album.

1981: Photograph are on the second night of a three-night run in Ottawa at Barrymore’s Music Hall.

1986: Eight Seconds is at Farmyard Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, recording their ALMACANTAR album.

1989: Blue Rodeo release their DIAMOND MINE album.

1994: In Toronto, Roch Voisine hosts the Juno Awards for the first and only time. Lawrence Martin is the recipient for the newly added Best Music of Aboriginal Canada recording for his song, “Wapistan.”

1998: Bill Bourne releases his SALLY’S DREAM lp.

2001: Econoline Crush release their BRAND NEW HISTORY album.

2004: Moxy is on the bill with MSG and Budgie at the Sunken Garden Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.

2005: Glass Tiger perform at The Phoenix in Toronto. The recording becomes their GLASS TIGER LIVE album.

2008: Blue Rodeo play a special show for the troops in Afghanistan. While there, they also get a tour of Camp Mirage and play some ball hockey along with some NHL veterans.

2012: Joel Plaskett releases his SCRAPPY HAPPINESS album.

2013: Marianas Trench are in Toronto for a show at Koolhaus, for the Canadian Radio Music Awards.

2016: The John Findlay Band is in Toronto for a show at Linsmore Tavern.

2017: Hedley is in Cold Lake, Alberta for a show at the Energy Centre. Opening is Shawn Hook.

2019: Matthew_Good is in Edmonton for a show at the Starlite Room.
