1973: Fiddle great Don Messer dies at the age of 63.

1976: Gordon Lightfoot is on “Midnight Special,” performing “Summertime Dream,” “Spanish Moss” and “I’m Not Supposed to Care.”

1977: Oakley is in Richibucto, NB to close out a five night run at The Bear’s Den.

1979: Gino Vannelli is in Chicago for a show at the Stadium.

1980: Pat Travers is in London, England for a show at the Hammersmith Odeon.

1981: Scissors are home in Vancouver for a show at City Space.

1982: The Terry Crawford Band begins a three-night run at Barrymore’s in Ottawa.

1983: Triumph is in Rochester, NY for a show at the Community War Memorial Centre.

1984: Qwest release their sophomore album, DREAM ZONE.

1991: Jeff Healey is in Australia on a national tour, and playing the Enmore Theatre in Sydney.

1994: Carpet Frogs and Headstones are in Kitchener, Ontario for a show at Lu Lu’s, opening for Cheap Trick.

1994: Lee Aaron is at Metalworks Studio in Mississauga, Ontario, working on what would become her EMOTIONAL RAIN album.

2006: Carson Cole releases his ESSENTIALS album.

2011: Marianas Trench is in Vancouver, taking part in the UBC’s “Lipdub” event, where around a thousand students and community members lip-sync to “Celebrity Status.” It becomes the basis of the band’s video for the song a month later.

2015: Mississippi Live & The Dirty Dirty release their GOING DOWN album.

2016: Ronney Abramson makes a rare live appearance at BBAM Gallery in Montreal.

2016: Thor is in Kelowna, BC. The show features a screening of the “I Am Thor” movie, then the ONLY THE STRONG album done in its entirety.

2019: Marianas Trench is in Edmonton for a show at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium.
