1908: Percy Faith is born in Toronto.

1945: Guy Lombardo & His Royal Canadians debut on the Billboard pop chart with “My Heart Sings” which peaks at #21 & charts for only one week.

1952: Singer/songwriter/producer Gilles Valiquette is born in Montreal.

1967: Gordon Lightfoot releases his sophomore album, THE WAY I FEEL.

1976: Ralph Carlson & Country Mile release the THANKS FOR THE DANCE album.

1978: The B-Girls close out a two-night gig in Toronto at The Edge.

1979: Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush kick off their Tales of the Unexpected tour at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, during the California World Music Festival.

1979: Claudja Barry\’s “Boogie Woogie Dancin’ Shoes” peaks on the Canadian pop chart at #7.

1979: Frank Mills’ instrumental “Music Box Dancer” becomes the number three single in the US. It would be his only American top 40 hit.

1984: Patti Jannetta’s “Don’t Change” peaks at #13 on the Canadian AC chart.

1990: Moving Targetz is in Toronto for a show at Private Eyes.

1997: Patricia Conroy is attacked by a German shepherd while in Italy, causing her next seven European tour dates to be cancelled.

1997: Big Sugar‘s “If I Had My Way” reaches #8 on the Canadian singles chart.

2001: Barenaked Ladies peak on Billboard’s chart at #86 with “Too Little Too Late.”

2002: Honeymoon Suite stop their show in Lac La Biche, AB because they didn’t like the lights, then bitched out the roadie, who actually had nothing to do with it because he was sitting in the back eating supper and not even paying attention.

2007: Blue Rodeo‘s ARE YOU READY? album is certified gold, two days after its release.

2008: Kristilyn Robertson releases her debut album, THE UNCUT VERSION.

2009: Danko Jones releases his new album, the compilation, THIS IS DANKO JONES in Canada only.

2009: Classified release their debut album, SELF EXPLANATORY.

2009: The Tragically Hip release their WE ARE THE SAME album.

2012: April Wine is in Calgary at the Deerfoot Casino.

2016: Wayne Leslie, bassist for Townsmen and Canada Goose passes away at the age of 70 from natural causes.

2017: One Bad Son release their new single and video for “Raging Bull.”

2017: Yes is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Performing “Roundabout,” Rush‘s Geddy Lee guests on bass, as Chris Squire passed away two years earlier.

2017: The Wooden Sky release their new album, SWIMMING IN STRANGE WATERS.

2018: April Wine are in Las Vegas for a show at Orleans Casino.
