1943: Steppenwolf guitarist Mars Bonfire is born in Oshawa, Ontario as Dennis Eugene McCrohan.

1945: Guy Lombardo & His Royal Canadians debut on the Billboard pop chart with “Poor Little Rhode Island” which peaks at #11 & stays on the charts for 8 weeks.

1959: Guitarist Michael Timmins of the Cowboy Junkies is born in Montreal.

1961: Bob & Lucille, later known as The Canadian Sweethearts, re-release their 1958 single, “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe” on King Records.

1969: Hank Snow sees “The Name of the Game Is Love” top Canada’s country chart.

1976: Hammersmith opens for KISS at the Montreal Forum.

1979: Anne Murray tops Canada’s RPM singles chart with “I Just Fall In Love Again.”

1985: Coney Hatch is with Krokus and Accept, at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma.

1988: Marking his return to Reprise Records, Neil Young releases THIS NOTE’S FOR YOU – a bluesy, swinging album featuring a full horn section.

1988: Rush‘s show in Birmingham, England is taped for the SHOW OF HANDS video.

1996: Having moved to Canada to avoid the draft, Jesse Winchester makes his first appearance back in the US after being pardoned for avoiding the Viet Nam draft, at a sold-out show in Burlington, Vermont.

2000: Tara Lyn Hart’s single, “Save Me” peaks at #5 on the RPM country chart.

2001: Danko Jones is in Edmonton for a show at Red’s.

2002: Capitol Records releases the ‘best of’ package COREY HART – THE SINGLES.

2006: Saga releases their new CD, TRUST.

2007: Timbaland tops Billboard’s singles chart the first of a two-week run with “Give It To Me,” featuring

Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake.

2012: Streetheart & Doug & The Slugs are in Calgary at the Deerfoot Casino.

2013: The Juno Awards go down at the Brandt Centre in Regina. Among the winners are Marianas Trench perform an a capella version of “Fallout,” leading straight into “Stutter.” KD Lang is inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

2015: The Wild release their new single, “Slow Burn.”

2017: Barstool Prophets are in Ottawa for a show at Barrymore’s Music Hall.

2018: Dahlia Wakefield is in St Albert, Alberta for a show at the Community Hall in support of the Kinsmen.

2018: Bobby Cameron releases his new single and video, “Where You Live Where You Die.”

2018: Prism frontman Al Harlow releases his new single, “My Mind Is Running Away With You.”
