1969: Steppenwolf see “It’s Never Too Late” peak at #51 on Billboard’s chart.
1976: Mahogany Rush is in Tulsa, OK for a show at the Fairgrounds Speedway.
1977: Steadies guitarist Justin Lee is born in Saskatoon.
1978: Colin MacDonald of Trews is born in Antigonish, NS.
1979: Valdy releases his HOT ROCKS album.
1979: Rush‘s show with Max Webster in Mannheim, Germany is cancelled when Alex Lifeson breaks a finger in Hamburg two nights before.
1980: Ironhorse is on Billboard’s chart for the second and last time with “What’s Your Hurry Darlin’,” peaking at #89.
1986: At the Cow Palace in San Francisco, Bryan Adams opens Amnesty International’s “A Conspiracy of Hope Tour,” along with U2, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Lou Reed.
1990: Corey Hart marries Erika Gagnon, designer of several of his album jackets, in Rome.
1991: Glass Tiger cut short a concert in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. after lead singer Alan Frew is pelted with a loonie by an idiot in the crowd.
1997: Barenaked Ladies are on Billboard’s chart for the first time, when “The Old Apartment” peaks at #88.
2010: BTO, sort of, begins a reunion tour in front of about 300 people in Winnipeg’s Pyramid Cafe. Rob Bachman and Blair Thornton refused to sign on, so it’s Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, along with a makeshift backup band.
2011: Sloan is in Edmonton for a show at the Starlite Room.
2011: Matthew Good releases the LIGHTS OF ENDANGERED SPECIES album.
2013: Jr Gone Wild are back together, and playing at the Capilano Conference Centre. Also on the card are Carolyn Mark and Her New Best Friends.
2014: Coney Hatch is in Niagara Falls, Ont for a show at Taps on Queen Brewhouse.
2015: Lisa Price‘s sole EP from 1983, PRICELESS, is re-released on CD by YesterRock Records .
2015: Fresh off a European tour, Lynne Hanson is in Wakefield, Quebec for a show at Blacksheep Inn. Also on the card are Kris & Dee and Kirsten Jones.
2017: Fresh off an April Wine show in town earlier in the week, Myles Goodwyn performs a solo acoustic show with special guest Jim Henman at a private function in Calgary.
