1922: Singer/comedian Gordie Tapp (most notable for his time on “Hee Haw”) is born in London, Ontario.

1948: Craig Hamblin, drummer for Gettysbyrg Address, is born in Winnipeg.

1969: Kensington Market releases their sophomore album, AARDVARK.

1969: Life release their first single, “Hands Of The Clock,” along with their self-titled debut album.

1970: Kurt Winter officially joins The Guess Who.

1970: Neil Young, as part of CSNY begin six shows in three days at the Fillmore East.

1976: Pat Traversreleases his self titled debut album.

1977: Moxy and Triumph are in Vancouver for a show at PNE Gardens.

1979: Rush is in Geleen, Holland for the Pink Pop Festival. They’re the only Canadian act on the card.

1983: Blue Peter is in London, Ont for a show at Fry Fogels.

1983: Anvil< opens for Motorhead at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, England in the first of two sold-out shows.

1986: The Conspiracy of Hope concert tour, starring Bryan Adams along with Sting, Peter Gabriel, and U2, opens at San Francisco’s Cow Palace.

1988: Men Without Hats pretend to perform “Pop Goes The World” when they’re on Solid Gold.

1989: Alannah Myles releases the single, “Love Is” in the UK.

1990: Jess Moskaluke is born in Langenburg, Sask.

1990: Alannah Myles> opens for Robert Plant at the Hammersmith Odeon for a two-night run.

1991: Former Headpins  singer Darby Mills releases her debut solo album, NEVER LOOK BACK.

1996: Bryan Adams releases 18 ‘TIL I DIE album.

2002: The Arrogant Worms release their first ‘best of’ album, GIFT WRAPPED.

2002:Natalie MacMaster releases her LIVE album.

2004:The Clayton Bellamy Band are at Starz for the second of three nights in Cold Lake, Alberta.

2006: Paul Shaffer (Saturday Night Live, Blues Brothers, Late Night w/ David Letterman) ,Robert Goulet and Jann Arden, are all presented with stars on the Canadian Walk of Fame, or at least that’s when it was on TV, hosted by WWE babe Trish Stratus.

2010: The “For The Love of Music” hip hop show goes down at Wooly Bully’s in Edmonton. The evening features performances from several local artists, including DJ Roach, CCRokk, Big Billy Blackout, Guillotine, DJ Globe, Katie, and Mac Biz.

2010: Queen City Kids are in Winnipeg for a show at Cowboys.

2011: Kate & Anna McGarrigle enter Billboard’s album chart at #17 with TELL MY SISTER.

2011: Nash The Slash is in Toronto for a show at The Rockpile.

2011: Neil Young is on stage in LA at the Wiltern Theatre for the first of a two night stand with a reformed Buffalo Springfield.

2013: Kingdoomis in New Westminster, BC for a show at The Columbia.

2016: In celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary, I Mother Earth end a two night run in Toronto at The Phoenix Theatre, performing SCENERY AND FISH in its entirety.

2017: One Love Manchester, a star-studded show in England after Ariana’s show a few weeks earlier is cancelled after a bombing, goes off without a hitch. The only Canadian on the stage is Justin Beiber.
