1950: Early country star and later MLA Brian Sklar is born in Prince Albert, Sask.

1950: Ra McGuire of Trooper is born in Vancouver.

1966: The Guess Who‘s “Clock On The Wall” enters RPM’s Top 100 at #99.

1969: 49th Parallel is in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for a show at Temple Gardens.

1970: Edward Bear are on Billboard for the first time, peaking at #68 with “You Me & Mexico.”

1977: Saga, then going by Pockets, play their first ever show in Cambridge, Ontario at the Tudor Tavern – to about two dozen people.

1972: Natalie MacMaster is born in Troy, Nova Scotia.

1976: Rush play the third of three nights in Toronto at Massey Hall. The taping becomes part of ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE.

1977: Teaze opens for Triumph at the Agriplex in Yorkton, Sask.

1980: Pat Travers is in Dallas, Texas for a show at Moody Coliseum.

1985: Thor is in Essex, UK. The show at The Pink Tooth Brush is taped, and part becomes the bonus tracks on the 2000 re-release of ONLY THE STRONG.

1986: Kim Mitchell releases his SHAKIN’ LIKE A HUMAN BEING album.

1992: “If You Asked Me To” by Celine Dion tops Canada’s RPM singles chart for the second of a two-week run.

1995: Alanis Morissette releases JAGGED LITTLE PILL.

1995: Jeff Healey releases his COVER TO COVER album and the first single, his version of “Stuck In The Middle With You.”

2002: Michelle Wright is in Zambia, filming a documentary for World Vision.

2005: HMV Canada removes all Alanis Morissette product from its shelves after she decides to sell her acoustic version of JAGGED LITTLE PILL exclusively through the Starbucks coffee chain.

2006: Rush releases RUSH – REPLAY X 3, a 3 DVD set of live material, EXIT STAGE LEFT, GRACE UNDER PRESSURE and A SHOW OF FANS, all previously available at one time or another, but not on DVD.

2008: Originally released in 1981, April Wine‘s LIVE IN LONDON video is re-released on DVD.

2011: Sarah McLachlan receives an honourary degree from Simon Fraser University.

2012: Lighthouse is in Meaford, Ontario for a show at the Meaford Hall.

2013: Kingdoom is in Quebec City for a show at Theatre Petit Champlaine.

2015: Hometown boy Lex Justice is at the Agriplex in Cold Lake, Alberta for a show benefitting Habitat For Humanity.

2015: Friday’s Heroes are at The Haraiki Pub in Lasalle, Quebec.

2017: Annihilator is in Victoria, BC kicking off a two-night run at Distrikt Nightclub.

2018: “A Criminal Mind” by Gowan is certified as a Platinum Single in Canada, surpassing a combined 80,000 physical 7″ and digital downloaded units sold. He’s presented with the plaque on stage in Windsor, Ontario, during his show at The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor.
