1969: Rhinoceros are in New York City at the Wollman Skating Rink during the Schaefer Music Festival.

1970: The Band, Janis Joplin, Ian & Sylvia, Mashmakhan and a host of others take part in the Festival Express Toronto to Calgary train/concert excursion.

1973: The Band, the Grateful Dead, and the Allman Brothers Band perform for a crowd of 600,000 (larger by half than Woodstock!) in upstate New York at the Watkins Glen “Summer Jam.”

1976: Anne Murray peaks at #41 on Billboard’s country chart with “Golden Oldie.”

1978: Ronney Abramson releases her JUKEBOX IN PARIS album.

1978: Prism releases the SEE FOREVER EYES album.

1980: Downchild Blues Band and Powder Blues Band are in Kelowna, BC for a show at the Memorial Arena.

1983: The Guess Who reunite at the Bandshell at CNE Stadium in Toronto. The show becomes the basis of the “Together Again” video and album. It also gets repackaged three years later as BEST OF THE GUESS WHO LIVE.

1986: Cowboy Junkies release their debut album, WHITES OFF EARTH NOW.

1999: 1998: Blue Rodeo‘s live album, JUST LIKE A VACATION, peaks on the Canadian albums chart at #20.

2003: Chilliwack release the THERE AND BACK – LIVE album.

2005: Avril Lavigne and Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley announce their engagement. Whibley popped the question during Lavigne’s European tour.

2005: Trews release the single, “So She’s Leaving.”

2007: Tom Cochrane is named an honorary Colonel of 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron at 4 Wing in Cold Lake, AB, the country’s training base for CF-18 fighter pilots. Cochrane had visited 4 Wing twice previously.

2008: Parachute Club headlines the wind down festivities of Toronto’s Gay Pride celebrations. It’s their first show since the death of former member Margo Davidson a month and a half earlier.

2009: Terry Black dies in Kamloops, BC from complications from MS.

2011: Big Sugar releases their REVOLUTION BY MINUTE album.

2011: Marianas Trench guitarist Matt Webb releases his debut solo EP, CODA AND JACKET.

2013: Goddo frontman Greg Godovitz is in Calgary for a show at the Blues Can.

2015: Rawlins Cross are on stage at the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro, NS.

2017: Matt Blais releases his single and video, “Give A Little More.”

2019: Atlanta Jane is in Saskatoon at Nolito Studios, filming the video for her new single, “Lost Without You.”
