1948: Kim Berly, drummer for Stampeders and The Cry is born in Dawson Creek, BC as Kimball Meyer.

1954: Frank Zirone, frontman for Hanover, Zero One, and Wall of Silence is born in Sicily, Italy.

1959: Ronnie Hawkins is on the Billboard chart for the first time, peaking at #45 with “40 Days.”

1965: Gary Buck releases the single, “Back Street of Life.”

1966: Staccatos enter the pop charts at #82 with “C’mon Everybody.”

1970: JR Flood (with drummer Neil Peart) do a free show on a flatbed deck on James Street in St Catharines, Ontario.

1970: The Festival Express concert, which includes The Band, Mashmakhan, and Ian & Sylvia, among others, is in Calgary for the first of two days.

1971: Andy Creeggan of Barenaked Ladies and Brothers Creeggan is born Andrew Burnett Creeggan in Scarborough, ON.
