1966: The Mamas & Papas (which features Canadian Denny Doherty), peak at #20 on RPM’s Top 100 with “I Saw Her Again.”

1966: Carlton Showband release the single, “Up Went Nelson.”

1971: “Rise ‘n’ Shine” by Dick Damron tops the Canadian country chart. Coincidentally, it’s his song “Countryfied” by George Hamilton IV that knocks him out of the top spot a week later.

1971: Andy Kim is on Billboard’s chart peaking at #97 with “I’ve Been Moved.”

1972: A bomb explodes under an equipment truck while the Rolling Stones are in Montreal. No one is hurt and the culprits are never caught. April Wine ends up lending them their gear so the show can go on. The Stones eventually repaid the favour by having April Wine open for them at their secret El Mocambo show in 1977 where they played as The Cockroaches. Both bands’ shows end up on album later that year.

1975: BTO release the single, “Quick Change Artist.”

1976: The Olympics begin in Montreal. The theme song is “Bienvenue Montreal” by Rene Simard.

2002: Bobby Cameron ends a tour through eastern Canada tour with Long John Baldry in Halifax.

2004: BTO close out the 3-day BIG A$$ Border Bash in Cold Lake, AB. The show featured an all-Canadian lineup that coincided with the Air Show to commemorate CFB Cold Lake’s 50th anniversary.

2004: Helix is in Brantford, Ontario at the Sanderson Centre. The show is taped for the 30TH ANNIVERSARY DVD.

2007: Payolas release the EP, LANGFORD PART ONE.

2007: Matthew Good sees his IN A COMA album certified gold in Canada.

2007: Kim Mitchell releases his AIN’T LIFE AMAZING album.

2008: Steven Page, singer for Barenaked Ladies appears in a Syracuse, NY court, where he fends a cocaine possession hearing.

2008: The Collectors‘ two albums from 1967 and 1968 are re-released on CD.

2008: Leonard Cohen performs in London, England’s O2 Arena. The show is released a year later as the LIVE IN LONDON album/DVD.

2015: Headstones are in Edmonton performing at K Days.

2018: Drummer Garry Peterson is the only original member left, but Guess Who release their new single and video for “Playin’ On The Radio.”

2020: Jesse Toronto James releases his new single and video, “Crazy.”

2020: King Bull release their new single and video, “The Depender.”
