1954: Red Rider‘s Ken Greer is born in Toronto.
1964: Hank Snow peaks on Billboard’s country chart at #21 with “I Stepped Over The Line.”
1966: Gordon Lightfoot‘s “Spin Spin” is the top selling Canadian single that week, selling 3,311 copies nationwide.
1969: The Guess Who are on the card at the Seattle Pop Festival, the only act to appear all three days.
1969: New York’s Fillmore East is the scene as Neil Young appears with Crosby, Stills and Nash for the first time.
1974: John Rutsey plays his last show with Rush, at the Centennial Hall in London, Ontario.
1976: Mahogany Rush is in San Antonio for a show at the Municipal Auditorium.
1980: Goddo is in Vancouver for a show at the Commodore.
1983: Streetheart is in Winnipeg for a show at The Norlander Pub to end a five night run. The show is taped and used for the LIVE AFTER DARK album later that year.
1987: Dan Hill releases the single, “Can’t We Try.”
1992: Queen City Kids close out a three-night stand in Edmonton at Peoples Pub.
1994: Neil Young releases SLEEPS WITH ANGELS. The record’s harder-edged sound nods to Seattle grunge rockers and pays tribute to the late Kurt Cobain.
1995: George Fox‘s “First Comes Love” tops Canada’s country singles chart.
1998: In a ceremony in Wingham, Ontario, Bill Mankiss is awarded a Tribute & Pioneer Award by the Canadian Barn Dance Historical Society.
1999: Our Lady Peace takes the stage at Woodstock ’99.

2005: David Wilcox and a reunited Thundermug play the final night at Rock The Park in London, Ontario, which was extended to four nights based on the previous year’s turnout.
