1961: Hank Snow peaks at #5 on Billboard's country chart with "Beggar To A King."

1967: Jon Lee and The Checkmates return to Toronto for its final set of gigs. The band breaks up shortly after.

1968: The Newport Pop Festival begins in Costa Mesa, California. 100,000 fans come out to hear Steppenwolf, along with over a dozen big hit artists of the day.

1971: 2,606,657 albums are pressed in Canada for the month of July, an increase of over 350,000 from that period a year earlier.

1973: Bob Ruzicka releases the single, "Coming Home."

1977: One Horse Blue is in Drayton Valley, Alberta for a show at The Drayton Valley Hotel.

1978: The B-Girls are at home in Toronto for a show at The Horseshoe.

1982: April Wine begins a two week run at #50 on Billboard's chart with "Enough Is Enough."

1982: Terry Crawford's EP GOOD GIRL GONE BAD is released.

1983: Streetheart and Harlequin open for Cheap Trick at Empire Stadium.

1986: BTO opens for Van Halen at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ.

1990: Haywire releases their NUTHOUSE album.

1992:Spirit of the West reach #20 on the chart with the album, TWO HEADED.

2001: The 4 Lads' albums SWING ALONG and EVERYTHING GOES are combined into one CD.

2005: Johnny Reid and Aaron Prtichett help close out the Big Valley Jamboree outside Camrose, Alberta.

2005: Tupelo Honey, Corb Lund, Gil Grand, Clayton Bellamy, Mike Plume, Bobby Cameron, and Jack Union are all on the card over the next two days at Muriel Lake Park, outside Bonnyville, Alberta for the Lakeland Music Fest.

2005: Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush are in Warwickshire, England for a show at Queen's Hall.

2012: DOA release their album, WE COME IN PEACE.

2013: The Blue Mules release their debut album, THE BLUES AIN'T SO BAD.

2015: Stampeders are in Halifax for a show at the Big-X Festival.

2016: '60s pop star and later jazz singer Pat Hervey succumbs to a long battle with esophageal cancer at the age of 69.

2016: April Wine and Holly Woods & Toronto are in St John's, NFLD for the Gorge Street Festival.

2018: James Clive Scott releases the single and video for "Crazy Jane and the Kid."

2019: Donny Lee is in High Prairie, Alta to close out a two night run as the after-rodeo entertainment.
