1948: Susan Jacks is born in Saskatoon as Susan Pesklevits.

1950: Hank Snow’s “I’m Movin’ On” tops the Billboard country charts, and stays there for 21 weeks, only done twice before or since.

1958: David Brent MacNab, guitarist for One Horse Blue, Models, Famous Blue Raincoat, Vindicators, and Joint Chiefs is born in Edmonton.

1967: “Mr John” by Kensington Market enters the Canadian pop chart at #98.

1968: Crash Kharma drummer Jeff Burrows is born in Windsor, Ontario.

1972: David Clayton-Thomas is the first Canadian to appear on “Midnight Special.” The pilot episode has him singing “Yesterday’s Music” and “Nobody Calls Me Prophet.”

1978: Chilliwack peaks at #191 on Billboard’s albums chart with LIGHTS FROM THE VALLEY.

1982: Downchild Blues Band is in Toronto for the first of three nights at El Mocambo. The shows are taped and becomes part of their live album the next year, BUT I’M ON THE GUEST LIST.

1982: The Frank‘s Denver Swainson is born in Red Deer, Alberta.

1983: Coney Hatch opens for Fastway and Iron Maiden in Philadelphia at the Spectrum.

1997: Anvil’s ABSOLUTELY NO ALTERNATIVE album is released.

1997: CBS releases the new Barney Bentall CD, TIL TOMORROW.

2000: Barenaked Ladies, along with Richard Ashcroft, Paul Weller, James, Toploader, Moby, and a dozen others appear at this year’s V2000 festival in Staffordshire, England.

2003: The Trews release the original version of HOUSE OF ILL FAME.

2008: Lisa Brokop releases the album, BEAUTIFUL TRAGEDY.

2009: Faber Drive release the video for the single, “G-Get Up And Dance.”

2011: Bill Durst, formerly of Thundermug is in Canmore, Alberta for a show at Bailey’s Theatre.

2011: Seb Agnello performs an acoustic show at The Danny’s in Toronto. With him are a few special friends.

2012: Mark Hamilton releases his new single and video, “Haters.”

2014: Nickelback release their first single for new label Republic Records, “Edge of a Revolution.”

2015: Econoline Crush is in Kamloops, BC for a show at Cactus Jack’s.

2016: Dallas Smith releases his new single, “Autograph.”

2016: Honeymoon Suite and Haywire are in Winnipeg for a show at Club Regent Casino.

2017: King Beez, The Be Sharps, and Life Like Fire are in Toronto for a show at Stop Drop & Roll.

2018: It’s day three at Rock Ambelside in Vancouver. Doug & The Slugs and Toronto & Holly Woods are among the performers, and one drunk idiot evaded authorities by swimming out into the ocean. The Coast Guard was called in, and when he was arrested, it was learned there was already a Canada wide warrant out on him.

2018: From WIthin release their new single, “WW3.”

2019: Steadies are in Montreal for an acoustic show at Bistro les Tecath.

2019: Lauren Eliza releases her new single, a cover of “Lovely.”

2020: Hinsley releases his debut single and video, “Unfixable.”
