1966: The Bossmen and “Brainwashed” peak at #16 on the Canadian pop chart.

1967: Ralph Carlson enters the Canadian country chart at #10 with “Transport Blues.”

1969: Steppenwolf is in Providence, Rhode Island for a show at the Auditorium.

1970: Anne Murray’s “Snowbird” enters Billboard’s Hot 100 on its way to a million seller, marking the first time in history that an American gold record was awarded to a solo Canadian female.

1970: George Canyon is born Frederick George Lays in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

1970: Mashmakhan top Canada’s RPM singles chart with “As The Years Go By” for the first of two weeks.

1970: King Biscuit Boy & Crowbar are in Grimsby, Ontario for the Grimsby Rock & Blue Revival.

1976: Klaatu releases their debut lp, 3:47 EST.

1976: Mahogany Rush is in Charleston, WV for a show at the Civic Center.

1979: Tim Hicks is born in St Catharines, Ontario.

1987: While doing a solo show in Asbury Park, NJ, Levon Helm is joined onstage by hometown boy Bruce Springsteen, and joins him on “Up on Cripple Creek” and “Lucille.”

1992: Tom Cochrane‘s “Life Is A Highway” peaks at #6 on Billboard’s chart.

1995: Blue Rodeo‘s NOWHERE TO HERE album is certified double platinum.

2000: 54-40 release CASUAL VIEWIN’, a full year before it’s released in the US.

2006: Alexisonfire releases their third album, CRISIS.

2006: Terri Clark is on the stage at the Western Idaho Fair in Boise, Idaho.

2006: Barney Bentall releases his GIFT HORSE album.

2008: Frank Marino is in San Juan Capistrano, CA for a show at Coach House.

2008: The Creepshow release their debut album, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

2009: Nelly Furtado peaks on Billboard’s singles chart at #54 with “Jump.”

2014: Doug & The Slugs, Harlequin, and Honeymoon Suite open up the 3-day Rock The River festival outside Saskatoon.

2014: Arcade Fire release their new single, “You Already Know.”

2014: Helix and Toronto play the Century Casino in Edmonton.

2015: Road Hammers headline entertainment in Bonnyville, Alberta during day two of Extreme Mudfest. Aaron Pritchett opens.

2015: Streetheart and Kick Axe are on the bill at Rock The River, in Saskatoon.

2017: Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee host their annual Boys of Fall Charity Golf Tournament and Concert, at the Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, BC. In its fifth year, proceeds from the event are donated to Basics for Babies, an organization that assists families coping with the challenges of raising a young infant by providing them with needed food, formula and diapers.

2017: Focused releases their new album, BAD MEAT.

2018: Headpins are in Quebec City for a show at at La Salle Jean-Paul-Tardif.

2019: Matt Anderson releases the single, “Free Man.”

2020: It’s taken them over 44 years to play Europe, but Teaze‘s show at the Golden Age Rock Festival in Leige, Belgium is cancelled due to the pandemic.

2020: Live music is back at Blues On Whyte in Edmonton. Lex Justice plays two shows there this day.
