1945: Bassist George Biondo of Steppenwolf fame is born in Brooklyn, NY.

1955: The Four Lads release the single “Moments To Remember.”

1959: Jackie Rae releases his duet with Janette Scott, “Sweet Talk.”

1965: Robert Goulet’s SUMMER SOUNDS album is released.

1966: Buffalo Springfield is at Melodyland in Anaheim closing out a two night. Jim Fielder is filling in on bass for Bruce Palmer while he waits to get out of jail. The show is cut short anyway when Neil Young suffers an epileptic seizure on stage and is hospitalized for a couple of days.

1970: Haydain Neale is born in Hamilton.

1971: Irish Rovers are in Vancouver for the first of two nights at PNE Coliseum.

1976: Garfield releases their debut album, STRANGE STREETS

1977: Max Webster‘s “High Class In Borrowed Shoes” peaks at #44 on the charts.

1979: Crowcuss is opening for Prism at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

1979: Connie Kaldor releases the single, “Wanderlust.”

1980: Gob and Sum 41 bassist Jason McCaslin is born in North York, Ontario.

1980: Burton Cummings is in Nanaimo, BC for a show at the Frank Crane Arena.

1988: It’s the end of an era, as Rik Emmett leaves Triumph following their show in Toronto’s Kingswood Music Theatre.

1990: Alias‘ “Haunted Heart” peaks at #30 on the Canadian chart.

1991: Rush releases ROLL THE BONES.

1994: Lee Aaron‘s EMOTIONAL RAIN album is released in the UK.

2003: Triumph‘s show at the US Festival is released on CD, 20 years after the performance.

2005: Danny Hooper MC’s the Alberta Centennial celebration in Cold Lake. On the card are Daniel Gervais and Brett Kissel. Both are from that neck of the woods.

2005: Justin Beiber is on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. There also happens to be a good test pattern on a different channel.

2005: Parachute Club headlines the City Roots Festival in their hometown of Toronto.

2008: Barenaked Ladies are in Rama, Ontario for a show at Casino Rama.

2010: Mississippi Live & The Dirty Dirty release their WAY DOWN HERE album.

2016: April Wine‘s Myles Goodwyn releases his autobiography, “Just Between You & Me.”

2017: Wilkinsons are in Drayton Valley, Alberta for a show at the Eleanore Pickup Arts Centre.

2019: Change Under Death release their new single and video, “Lovin’ On A Plane.”

2019: The New Customs release the single and video, “Chasing Light,” from the upcoming album, SELLING RELIGION ON GOVERNMENT STREET.
