Gordon Lightfoot's single, "Just Like Tom Thumb
Blues" enters the Canadian pop chart at #32.
1968:
Andy Kim is among the judges for the 1968 MIss 16 contest in New
York. It's a pageant held by 16 Magazine, which sparked an uproar because it supposedly
glorified teen sex. Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders and Regis Philbin were also
judges.

1974:
Scrubbaloe Caine's debut album, ROUND ONE, peaks at #61
on the Canadian albums chart for the second of two straight weeks.
1975:
Neil Young has a growth scraped from his vocal chords in an LA
hospital. Although the operation is a success, he has to cancel his tour a few months later with
Stephen Stills midway.
1975: Rich Wamil releases the third album under the
Copperpenny name, FUSE.
1976:
Triumph releases their eponymous debut.
1977:
Gordie Tapp guest stars on The Bobby Vinton Show, taped in
Toronto. He tells some jokes and they do the duet, "That's Amore."
1978:
Brutus opens for Peter Gabriel in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens.
1979:
Triumph is in Oshawa, Ontario for a show at the Civic Auditorium.
1979: "Canadian Idol" winner Ryan Michael Malcolm is born in Kingston,
Ont.
1989:
Voivod releases the NOTHINGFACE album.
1990:
National Velvet is in Toronto for a show at Rock n Roll
Heaven.
1992:
Alannah Myles releases her ROCKINGHORSE album.
2000: The Trailer Park Boys release THE BIG DIRTY SOUNDTRACK, soundtrack to their
movie. It features
Rush's Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee, among others.
2002:
Rush is live in Atlanta, Georgia. The show is filmed for a future
video.

Big Sugar is in Winnipeg for a show at Walker Theatre to end their
Brothers & Sisters Tour.

Parachute Club reunites for a free show in Toronto at the El
Mocambo.

Gowan does a solo concert, titled In Kilt Tonight, at the Glenn Gould
Studio in Toronto. All proceeds were donated to McDermott House Canada.

Tom Jackson releases his new single and video, "I'm Not

Tom Jackson releases the Red Cross benefit single, "Blue

Gord Downie and his brother Mike, along with the Wenjack family,
announce the founding of the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund to support reconciliation between
Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
2017:
Carol Pope is in Toronto for a show at The Duke.
2017: The University of Calgary receives a $2 million grant from the federal
government to preserve audio archives dating from the1940s donated by EMI Music.
2019: Hangman's Graveyard releases the single, "Witching
Hour."
