Kick Axe guitarist Larry Gilstrom is born in Regina.

1967:
Tom Northcott makes it to #20 on the Canadian pop chart with
"Sunny Goodge Street."

1967:
Ralph Carlson enters the Canadian country top 10 at #10 with
"The Homecoming."

1967:
Tommy Hunter's "The Battle of the Little Big
Horn" peaks at #3 on the Canadian country chart.

1972:
Five Man Electrical Band peaks at #32 on the
Canadian chart with "Money Back Guarantee," the second of a two week run.

1972:
The Band peak at #13 on the Canadian albums chart with ROCK OF
AGES.

1972: Franck Dervieux peaks on the Canadian albums chart at #85 with DIMENSION M.
It's his only appearance on the chart.

1972: Cascades make their only appearance on the Canadian pop chart, peaking at
#95 with "Sweet America."

1973:
Neil Young releases TIME FADES AWAY.

1974:
Mahogany Rush are in Ithica, NY for a show at Cornell
University.

1978:
Nick Gilder tops Canada's RPM singles chart for the first
time since leaving
Sweeney Todd with "Hot Child In The City." It starts
a two-week run.

1978:
Rush kick off the HEMISPHERES tour with a show at the Memorial Centre in
Kingston, Ontario.

1988:
The Jeff Healey Band make their American TV debut, as guests on
Late Nite With David Letterman.

1996:
Odds release their NEST album.

1996: "Let's Make A Night To Remember" by
Bryan Adams begins a two-week run atop Canada's RPM singles
chart.

2003: Early country star Gary Buck dies peacefully in his Didsbury, Alberta home
at the age of 63.

2006:
Streetheart and
Headpins are in Vancouver for Rocktoberfest at the Edgewater
Stage.

2006: Canada's superstar publicist, booking agent and personal manager Gino
Empry dies of congestive heart failure at the age of 83, after suffering a stroke in July. Empry
became famous in the 1970s for bringing international talent to Canada including Tony Bennett,
Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner and Roy Orbison, among others.

2007:
Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Regine Chassagne are on stage
in Ottawa with Bruce Springsteen, playing "State Trooper" and "Keep the Car
Running."

2008: Jim Barber releases his CHANCES album.

2012:
Randy Bachman and
Sarah McLachlan perform at the ceremonies for Canada's
Walk of Fame, which inducts the 1972 Summit Series players.

2014: Bruce Innes of
Original Caste survives a serious car accident outside his
Hailey, Idaho home.

2016:
The Spoons are in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the Centre for the
Performing Arts. Also on the bill are
The Kings and Trixie Goes Hollywood.

2016:
Helix and
Lee Aaron are in Edmonton for the first of a two-night stand at
Century Casino.

2017:
Darby Mills Project is in Vancouver for a show at Russian
Hall.

2018: Harpdog Brown is in Vancouver for a show at Blues Martini.

2018: From Within Rocks release their single, "Ghost Man."

2019: Prairie Dogz release their self-titled debut album.
