1965: After being stuck at #3 for a month, Gary Buck's "Break The
News To Liza" finally tops the Canadian country chart.

1965: "Love's Made A Fool of Me" by
The Esquires peaks at #19 on the Canadian chart, where it
stays for two weeks.

1965: Michel Louvain enters the Canadian pop chart for the first time at
#31 with "C'est Un Secret."

1969:
The Band's masterful self-titled second album – which
contains such classics as "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" and "King
Harvest (Has Surely Come)" enters Billboard's album chart. It reaches #9 and
eventually goes platinum, selling a million copies.

1973: "Heartbeat" by
The DeFranco Family tops Billboard's
chart.

1974:
Sweeney Todd is in Surrey, BC for a show at the
Cloverdale Community Hall.

1974:
Paul Anka hosts "Midnight Special" for the
second time. He performs five of his songs solo, as well as the duet with Odia Coates –
"One Man Woman."

1975: "Train," the second Leo Sayer cover by
Shooter, reaches #23 on CHUM FM's chart.

1978: COMES A TIME by
Neil Young, is released. One of his most personal and
intimate works, it peaks at #7 – surpassed only by 1972's HARVEST (#1) and MIRROR
BALL in 1995, which reached #5.

1979:
Triumph is in Wilkes-Barre, PA for a show at the Paramount
Theatre.

1984:
Bryan Adams releases the single, "Run To
You."

1986:
Anne Murray peaks at #26 on Billboard's country
chart with "My Life's A Dance."

1986:
Clayton Bellamy is born in Bonnyville, AB.

1988:
The Jeff Healey Band is live on Late Night With David
Letterman, and in the process makes his US television debut.

2000: Tricky Woo and Danko Jones are in Edmonton for a show at the Urban
Lounge.

2002:
Thor is at Kings in Raleigh, NC. The show is taped and winds up
on DVD the next year.

2005:
Bryan Adams' 3-CD set, ANTHOLOGY is
released.

2005:
Jason McCoy releases his 'best of' package,
GREATEST HITS 1995 – 2005.

2008:
Gordon Lightfoot is in Agoura Hills, California for
a show at Canyon Club.

2008:
Rush's Neil Peart performs with the Buddy Rich Band at the
Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City for a later record.

2012: Cindy Church releases the album, SAD SONGS MAKE ME HAPPY.

2014:
Trews are in Montreal for a show at Petite Campus.

2014: In a ceremony in Toronto,
The Band and
Jeff Healey are inducted into the Canadian Walk of
Fame.

2014:
Sweet Daddy Siki is the guest of honour at The
Duke in Toronto. The occasion is his 20th anniversary of hosting karaoke at the Duke. He
also sings a few tunes himself.

2015:
Johnny Burke and
Harold MacIntyre are in Victoria, BC for a show at
Victoria Hall.

2016: SECRET PATH –
Gord Downie's album, illustrated book, and
animated movie shining a light on the Canadian residential school system and Chaney
Wenjack, a child who died trying to walk 400 miles to get home, is released.

2019: The indie flick, "Moment In Space Time" premieres in Cold
Lake, Alberta at the Cold Lake High School. Shot in and around the Lakeland area earlier
in the year, it features actors Jonathon Rhys-Davies and local star Patty Srisuwan. The
theme song, "I'll Follow" is written by Srisuwan and Dave Hendrick.

2019:
Corb Lund releases his new single and video, a cover of
AC/DC's "Ride On."
