Steppenwolf, is born in Oshawa, Ont. as Gerald
McCrohan.

1947: Kenny Shields (
Witness Inc,
Streetheart) is born in Nokomis,
Saskatchewan.

1964: The Spats make their only appearance on American
Bandstand, performing "The Roach" and "Gator Tails and Monkey
Ribs."

1966: Les Sultans enter the Canadian pop chart for the first
time at #94 with "La Pouppe Qui Fait Non."

1967: "Catch The Love Parade" by
Staccatos peaks at #28 on the
Canadian pop chart.

1967:
Heather Elaine Rankin is born in Mabou,
Nova Scotia.

1975:
Rush opens for The Amboy Dukes in Tulsa, OK at the
Assembly Center.

1975:
Bruce Cockburn releases his JOY WILL FIND
A WAY album.

1981:
Burton Cummings sees "You Saved My
Soul" from the "Melanie" soundtrack (a movie he starred in)
reach #37 on Billboard's singles chart.

1983:
Coney Hatch opens for Iron Maiden in Kansas
City, Missouri at Memorial Hall.

1986: Drake is born in Toronto as Aubrey Drake Graham.

1989:
FM is in Barrie, Ontario.

1991:
Bryan Adams breaks the attendance record for
an all-standing indoor show at Glasgow's Scottish Exhibition and
Conference Centre, when 12,000 people turn up.

1992: Twenty years after the release of his milestone
HARVEST,
Neil Young issues a sequel, HARVEST MOON. It
becomes his first million-seller since 1979's RUST NEVER SLEEPS.

1996: Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern hosts a
Bruce Cockburn show, where several cameos
are made, including
Barney Bentall, Bambi and the Deerhunters
(Cockburn and his band under a cute fake name), Miche Pouliet, John Dymond,
Richard Bell, and Gary Craig. Colin Linden also joins
Cockburn for "Waiting for a
Miracle," "Too Late To Holler," "Singing This Song"
and "Anything, Anytime, Anywhere."

2000:
Tragically Hip are in San Fransisco for a
show at The Fillmore Auditorium.

2006:
Shane Yellowbird releases his debut
album, LIFE IS CALLING MY NAME.

2009:
Honeymoon Suite are at Firefest in
Notthingham, UK.

2009: Michael Buble goes to # 1 on the US album chart with
CRAZY LOVE, his fourth album.

Rheostatics reunite briefly for the
