1951: Douglas Craig Bennett of Doug & The Slugs is born in Toronto.

1956: Canadian immigrant and roots guitar virtuoso Madagascar Slim is born in Antananarivo, Madagascar as Randriamananjara Radofa Besata Jean Longin.

1966: “The Lion Sleeps Tonite” by Townsmen peaks on the Canadian charts at #85.

1972: Bobby G Griffiths is in Toronto for the second night of a week-long run at Friars.

1972: Brave Belt and Seeds of Time are in Vancouver for a Halloween show at the North Van Rec Centre.

1972: Mahogany Rush release their debut album, MAXOOM.

2006: Aquarius Records release the April Wine compilation, APRIL WINE ROCKS.

1976: Teaze is home in Windsor for a show at the Windsor Arena.

1978: Teenage Head is in Kitchener, Ontario for a show at the Coronet Theatre. It’s taped for a radio and TV simulcast.

1990: Toronto’s own Slash Puppet are at Rock n Roll Heaven, headlining the Halloween show.

1992: Grapes of Wrath play their final show before breaking up in Vancouver.

2004: Joshua’s Habit are in Whitehorse, Yukon, beginning a four-night run at The Capitol Club.

2006: Terry Watkinson, ex- keyboardist for Max Webster and Klaatu, has an art exhibit at Wellington Gallery in Aurora, ON. The exhibit closes on this day. He also painted the cover to Klaatu’s 1993 greatest hits package PEAKS.

2006: Triumph releases their EXTENDED VERSIONS cd.

2006: Aquarius Records resurrects Sword, releasing a compilation of their two albums, simply entitled BEST OF SWORD.

2018: On the eve of Greyhound discontinuing its service west of Sudbury, Ontario, 30-year bus driver by day Dale Patkau releases the video for, “My Last Ride.”

2019: Puppets of Rage release their new single, “Wrecking My Mind.”

2019: Dead South are in Toronto for a show at the Phoenix Theatre.

2020: Harlequin are in Winnipeg for a show at Nashville’s.
