1936: The federal government passes the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Act, which leads to the formation of the
CRBC (Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission), forefather to the CBC. The move was actually on the behest of CN Radio. The
private company owned the only radio stations in the country, and urged the government to establish a BBC styled system to
prevent Americans from monopolizing the industry here.

1961:
KD Lang is born in Edmonton as Kathryn Dawn Lang.

1962: Hank Snow releases the single, "I've Been Everywhere."

1963:
Lorne Greene releases the single, "Ringo."

1964:
The Spats' "Gator Tails and Monkey Ribs" peaks at #19 on the CHUM pop
chart.

1969:
Life releases the single, "Sweet Lovin'."

1969:
The Band make their only appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.

1970:
Crowbar release their BAD MANORS album.

1971:
Edward Bear opens for Led Zeppelin for two shows in one night at the O'Keefe
Centre in Toronto.

1973:
April Wine release the ELECTRIC JEWELS album.

1974:
Neil Young hits #1 on the Billboard albums chart as part of CSNY with SO FAR.

1978:
Gordon Lightfoot is in Vancouver for a show at the Queen Elizabeth
Theatre.

1985: "Lovin' Every Minute Of It" from
Loverboy peaks on the Billboard chart at #9.

1987:
Corey Hart peaks at #26 on Billboard's chart with "Boy In The
Box."

1985: BEHAVIOUR from
Saga peaks on Billboard's albums chart at #87, the last time they have a record on
Billboard.

1991:
National Velvet is in Toronto for a show at Rock 'n Roll Heaven.

1991:
Crash Test Dummies' GHOSTS THAT HAUNT ME peaks at #14 on Bilboard's
albums chart.

1993:
Infidels release the single, "100 Watt Bulb."

1993:
Bryan Adams releases his new album, SO FAR SO GOOD.

1997:
Steppenwolf is in Metairie, Louisiana for a show at Zephyr Stadium.

1998:
Bryan Adams tops the Canadian singles chart with "On A Day Like
Today."

1998:
Joni Mitchell is on tour with Bob Dylan, in Syracuse, NY for a show at the War
Memorial Centre at Oncentre.

1998: Celine Dion releases the album, THESE ARE SPECIAL TIMES.

2002:
Avril Lavigne peaks at #10 on Billboard's chart with "Sk8er
Boi."

2006:
Rush's Neil Peart appears on The Rick Mercer Report, and gives him some motorbike and drum
lessons.

2007:
Colin James releases his yuletide album, A LITTLE BIG BAND CHRISTMAS.

2010: Frederick Squire releases his debut solo album, MARCH 12.

2013:
Coney Hatch is in WInnipeg for a show at the RBC Convention Centre.

2013:
Kingdoom is at home in Edmonton for a show at Avenue Theatre.

2014:
Gordon Lightfoot is in Edmonton for a show at Jubilee Auditorium.

2014:
Frank Soda is in Richmond, BC for a show at River Rock Show Theatre.

2015: The Blue Mules are on stage at Buds On Broadway in Saskatoon.

2015: '80s Montreal garage band The Gruesomes re-release their GRUSOMANIA album.

2016: Hand of Set releases the video and single, "Blood Fever."

2018:
Headstones are inThorold, Ontario for a show at Moose & Goose.

The Paul James Band is in Toronto for a show at the Dakota Tavern.

theatre fundraiser. Also on the card are Carmen Lucia and FKB.

2018:
George Canyon is in Truro, NS for a show at the Royal Canadian Legion.

2018:
Coney Hatch is with Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, for a show at Maxwell's in
Waterloo, Ontario.

2019:
Matt Blais is in Calgary to close out a two-night run at Grey Eagle Resort &
Casino.

2019: Mr! Mouray's show at C'est What? in Toronto is a release party for their third EP, SPARES.
Opening the show is Clockwise.

2019: Absentia release their new EP, A REASON FOR LIVING.

2019:
Bill Bourne is in Bonnyville, Alberta for a show at Ecole Notre Dame High School.
It's a fundraiser for a new theatre.

2019: A special concert called The Music Lives On is held in Montreal at the Maison Symphonique. Playing
selctions by Bach and Mahler, among other composers, the Orchestre Metropolitain brought out violins that had survived the
holocaust. In most cases, the original owners of the instruments did not.

2019: Mark Stonehocker releases his new single and video, "You Matter To Me."
