1962: Bobby Curtola enters Billboard’s chart at #92 with “Aladdin,” the second and last time he’s on Billboard.

1967: The Paupers are in Detroit, opening for MC5 the first of three nights at the Grande Ballroom.

1973: Blake Manley from Doc Walker is born in The Pas, MB.

1977: Triumph release their ROCK & ROLL MACHINE album.

1978: Randy Bachman releases his second solo album, SURVIVOR.

1978: The TV show “Diff’rent Strokes” debuts, with a theme song written by Alan Thicke.

1979: Loverboy release their self-titled debut album.

1979: Private Eye is opening for Trooper at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

1984: Honeymoon Suite perform “New Girl Now” while appearing on American Bandstand.

1986: Rik Emmtt is in Toronto’s Phase One Studios, working on what will become his debut solo album, ABSOLUTELY.

2017: He’s left April Wine and drummer Jerry Mercer is doing his own thing. Jerry Mercer & The Jerry Co Band are in Montreal for a show at The Point.

2018: Pursuit of Happiness are reunited and come home to Edmonton for a show at Station on Jasper.

2018: Heather Bishop is in Winnipeg for a show at the West End Cultural Centre, playing what she says is her last ever concert.

2018: The Crawford/Crossley Quintet with Yanti are in Vernon, BC for a show at the Vernon Jazz Club.

2018: Headstones are in Oshawa, Ontario for a show at the Oshawa Music Centre.

2018: Calvin Vollrath is in Cold Lake, Alberta for a show at the Lakeland Inn.

2017: Bryan Adams releases the new compilation album, ULTIMATE.

2018: Drake’s out for some fun after a show in Vancouver, so he hits Parq Casino. Problem tho is he wants to spend over $10k, but the law said he had to prove where that much coin came from. He makes a big stink about it and accuses staff of racial profiling. Apologies are made, but he says he’ll never go back.

2018: Coney Hatch is with Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, for a show at The Brass Monkey, in Ottawa, Ontario.

2018: George Canyon is in Summerside, PEI for a show at Harbourfront Theatre.
