1949: Leon Stevenson ( Extras, BB Gabor, Garnett Ford) is born in Croydon, England.

1955: Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo is born in Toronto.

1957: “Daddy Cool,” peaks at #36 on the Canadian charts. There are two versions in that spot at the same time, one by The Diamonds, one by The Rays.

1958: Canadian Sweethearts, then going simply by their names Bob Regan and Lucille Starr, release their first single for Hollywood based label, Ditto Records – “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe.”

1967: Hank Snow peaks on Billboard’s country chart at #20 with “Learnin’ A New Way of Life.”

1967: The Guess Who peak at #35 with “Flying On The Ground Is Wrong,” the first song written by Neil Young to make the chart.

1967: “Footsteps” by Bobby Curtola peaks at #58 on the Canadian pop chart.

1967: “Jezebel” by Witness Inc peaks at #48 on the Canadian pop chart.

1972: It’s their only appearance on Billboard’s chart, and Wackers peak at #62 with “Day And Night” for the first of a two-week run.

1972: After a show at the Montreal Forum, members of The Who, along with some of their friends, spend the night in jail for causing over $6,000 worth of damages in their hotel.

1976: Bruce Cockburn releases his IN THE FALLING DARK album.

1978: Ronnie Hawkins is in LA for a show at the Roxy, reuniting with Rick Danko.

1978: Nelly Furtado is born in Victoria, BC.

1982: Forgotten Rebels are in Kitchener, Ontario for a show at the Coronet Motor Hotel.

1983: Streetheart is in Quebec City, ending a two night run at Bar Univers.

1990: DOA plays their final concert (before reuniting a few years later) at the Commodore in Vancouver.

1996: Alanis Morissette is atop the Canadian singles chart with “Head Over Feet,” the third week of an eight-week run.

2000: The Tea Party peaks at #10 with “Tangents” on Billboard’s chart.

2002: Glass Tiger is in Quebec City for a show at Lac Frontenac.

2003: Nickelback release the single, “Figured You Out.”

2003: Rik Emmett releases his GOOD FAITH album.

2004: Joshuas Habit play a sold-out show in Edmonton at Chase Nightclub.

2005: Rising Christian pop star Janelle is in Bonnyville, Alberta for a show at Dr Brosseau Middle School.

2014: Gordon Deppe releases his autobiography, “Spoonfed My Life With The Spoons.”

2014: Trews are in Medicine Hat, Alberta for a show at the Heritage Centre.

2014: Walk Off The Earth release their yuletide album, A WALK OFF THE EARTH CHRISTMAS.

2016: Fully Loaded is in Surrey, BC for the first of a two-night stand at Donegal’s Irish House.

2016: The Perms release their new single and video, “Lose Yourself.”
