1952: Kim Mitchell is born in Sarnia, Ontario, as Joseph Kim Mitchell.

1953: Rik Emmett is born in Toronto, as Rick Emmett. He would shorten the spelling of his first name after it was misspelled on Triumph's debut album anyway.

1957: Derry Grehan from Honeymoon Suite is born in St. Catharines, Ont as Dermot Fergus Grehan.

1968: MUSIC FROM THE BIG PINK, The Band's evocative debut album recorded in a farm house near Woodstock, NY is released. It charts no higher than #30 but sells steadily and becomes considered a classic.

1971: April Wine's "Fast Train" peaks at #38 on the Canadian pop chart.

1971: The Guess Who release the single, "Rain Dance."

1971: "Signs" is released by Five Man Electrical Band. It goes on to top the Canadian charts and becomes the band's biggest single.

1971: Ocean peaks at #73 on Billboard's singles chart with "Deep Enough For Me."

1974: Neil Young is with Crosby Stills & Nash for a show in Vancouver at PNE Coliseum.

1979: Touche releases their self-titled only album, as well as the single, "Take A Look (But Don't Touch)".

1980: Raffi releases the song, "Baby Beluga."

1984: Corey Hart opens for April Wine in Montreal at the Forum, closing out that leg of the One More For The Road tour.

1991: Kate & Anna McGarrigle are in London, England for a show at Royal Festival Hall.

1995: Terri Clark releases her debut single, "Better Things To Do."

1999: Econoline Crush are on Billboard's chart the only time, with "All That You Are," peaking at #28.

2001: Jann Arden releases BLOOD RED CHERRY.

2003: Bruce Cockburn releases the album YOU'VE NEVER SEEN EVERYTHING.

2007: Nickelback release a special edition of their ALL THE RIGHT REASONS album, a year and a half after the original release.

2009: Rufus Wainwright premieres his opera, Prima Donna, at the Manchester International Festival.

2009: Billy Talent release their BILLY TALENT III album in Europe, prior to anywhere else.

2009: Crash Kharma release the debut single, "Awake."

2010: Kim Mitchell headlines the Chatham Ribfest in Chatham, Ont.

2014: Guitarist Blacky announces he's left Voivod, for the second time.

2015: The Dead South are in Red Deer, Alberta for a show at Bo's Bar & Grill.

2015: Washboard Union release their IN MY BONES EP.

2016: Burton Cummings is the headliner on day three of the Red & White All Canadian Blues Fest in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

2016: Rural Alberta Advantage end a three-night run at the Gridlock Festival in Halifax, NS.

2019: Steven Page is onstage at Exhibition Grounds in Lloydminster, Sask during Colonial Days.
