1958: Carl Dixon of Coney Hatch, April Wine, and Guess Who fame is born in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

1962: Sass Jordan is born in Birmingham, England.

1966: Paupers are in Toronto for a show at Club 888.

1967: "Tears" by The Fifth enters the Canadian pop chart at #83.

1967: Buffalo Sprinfield, which is 3/5 Canadian, enter the Canadian charts for the first time at #100 with "Expecting To Fly."

1967: Tommy Hunter's "Mary In The Morning" tops Canada's country chart for the second of a two-week run.

1967: Ronnie Hawkins' "Home From the Forest" enters the Canadian pop chart at #93.

1970: Joni Mitchell is awarded her first gold record for the album LADIES OF THE CANYON.

1972: The first inception of Max Webster play their first ever show at the Abbey Road Pub in Toronto. Their manager couldn't think of a better name, so they were called Stinky.

1974: The Guess Who are in Hempstead, NY for a taping of Don Kirshner's Rock Concert at the Hofstra Playhouse.

1976: Wanka hosts a Christmas Bash at the North Toronto Memorial Gardens.

1980: Madcats are in Toronto for the second of a six night stand at Riverside.

1982: Hometown rockers Glider are in Kitchener for a show at the Coronet Motor Hotel, closing out a four-night run.

1995: Burton Cummings plays the third of three intimate one-man shows in Toronto at the Glenn Gould Theatre. The show becomes part of the UP CLOSE AND ALONE lp.

1996: Alanis Morissette is atop the Canadian singles chart with "Head Over Feet," the sixth week of an eight-week run.

2000: Tragically Hip are in Toronto for a show at Air Canada Centre.

2004: Billy Talent release their new single, "The Ex."

2006: Nova Scotia blues legend Dutch Mason dies of diabetes-related complications at the age of 68 in his Truro, NS home.

2006: Avril Lavigne peaks on Billboard's chart at #17 with "Keep Holding On."

2007: Oscar Peterson dies of kidney failure in his home in Mississauga, Ontario, at the age of 82.

2016: Skydiggers end a two-night run in Toronto at the Horseshoe Tavern.

2017: The Steadies are in Banff, Alberta to close out a two-night run at Wild Bill's.
